I purchased the shaggy angora goat on the wood mount for a gift for my neice. Loved how the wood grain comes through on the print. Excellent purchase! Would definitely purchase again.

This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.

Artist's Description

This image depicts the B-17 flown by Ted Seith, who flew in the 840thBS/483rd BG. He led a bombing raid over Memmingen, Germany on July 18, 1944, on which six bomb groups set out and became separated due to weather and just one, the 483rd led by Seith, flew on alone with no fighter protection. German fighters intercepted the group and shot down 14 of the 26 B-17s in the group but they stayed on course and completed the bombing mission. Ted Seith received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the group received a distinguished unit commendation for the raid. Seith went on to achieve senior roles in the USAF after the war.

About Steven Heyen

Steven Heyen

Steven Heyen was born in Papua New Guinea and grew up all around the world, including Fiji, Kenya, Indonesia and Malaysia. Drawing was his principal form of entertainment - usually ships, aircraft, animals and soldiers. In 2000 Steven decided to focus purely on landscape art for a few years. Curiously, the years spent in this genre enhanced his aviation art, which he continues to sell to a ready global market. Today he splits his painting load between landscape and aviation art. This site is dedicated to his aviation work, which focuses primarily on World War 1 & 2 subjects....
